My name is Abby McNaughton, and I’m a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Design, majoring in Communication Design through the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP).
Throughout my time at UC, I completed five co-op semesters that shaped my experience as both a designer and collaborator. My first internship was with Uhambo 8286 in Spring 2021, where I worked with a small business owner in South Africa to rebrand her baby apparel and linen company. This project opened my eyes to the real-world impact of thoughtful design and deepened my passion for using design to empower others.
I continued to grow my skills at Kao, where I worked across multiple beauty and skincare brands. I then joined Ubicquia in Fort Lauderdale as a UX/UI Design Intern, which challenged me to step into a more technical space and strengthened my adaptability and problem-solving. My final co-op was with Cloverleaf, where I supported brand and social media design efforts alongside another designer. I was later hired as an Associate Graphic Designer, contributing to a company-wide brand refresh and gaining valuable experience in brand systems and cross-functional collaboration.
Outside of design, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and my dogs. I’m always up for trying a new workout, picking up a creative hobby, going on long walks, reading, or discovering something new to inspire me.
I’m originally from the small town of New Bremen, Ohio. Growing up in a close-knit community shaped my values—especially collaboration, adaptability, and empathy—which I carry with me into every team and project. Having lived in both small towns and big cities, I’ve learned to communicate across diverse environments and approach each challenge with curiosity and enthusiasm.
